"Tree" Bookshelf

A young woman expecting her 1st baby was decorating the nursery in a Winnie-the-Poo theme, and wanted to have a book case shaped like a tree as one of the centerpieces of the room.

This was my most complex project to date, since the trunk and the branches each had their own unique angles! Not a 90 degree joint anywhere! But it was a ton of fun to design! This bookcase is made from maple and has an oil & wax finish, both of which are safe should the baby decide to chew on those shelves. 😃 The tree-shelf is about 4 feet wide at the bottom, 5 feet high, and 8 inches deep.
